The words children hear can shape how they learn to speak to themselves. In this practical talk, Mark will explore how parents, grandparents, teachers and other important adults can help children develop greater self belief through the everyday words they use.
Drawing on his own experiences and the ideas behind his book The Imprint Phenomenon, Mark will explain why early experiences can have a lasting influence on a child's beliefs about themselves.
You'll explore some of the everyday phrases that can unintentionally limit a child's confidence, what you can say instead and how positive beliefs formed early in life can influence future choices.
The session will also look at how you can become a supportive mentor and help give the children in your life an inner voice that's on their side.
You don't need to get every word right. The aim is to become more aware of the words that matter and how small changes can make a difference.
